Description

Natural stress relief supplements for pets

Zylkene 75 mg, 30 Capsules is a new nutritional supplement from Vetoquinol that's formulated to help pets cope with stressful situations like visits to the vet's office, stays in kennels, travel, grooming, and more. Zylkene contains the milk protein casein which has been shown to promote relaxation in newborns.

Using Zylkene in dogs and cats may help reduce the common signs of behavioral stress including: altered sleeping patterns, inappropriate urination or defecation, excessive vocalization, and more.

    Directions

Zylkene Capsules can be fed directly or opened and the powder mixed in with your pet's food or a treat. Ideally start Zylkene a few days before fireworks, a veterinary or grooming visit, or a kennel stay. For long-term stressful situations, the manufacturer recommends Zylkene be given for a minimum of 1-2 months or longer if necessary. Always consult your veterinarian before starting your pet on any new supplement or medication.

Zylkene has proved to be a very effective, calming agent for my rescue cat, Nino, who was fearful even of his own shadow when I adopted him. I believe he was mistreated by the people who abandoned him. But now, after he started taking Zylkene, he doesn't cower any more and has become much more sociable. It is very easy to give it to him. mixed with some wet food. A great find.

Every year prior to the Fourth of July I start to worry about the effects of the booming and whistling of the fire works on my male Boston terrier. In my area it begins a week before until a week after the 4th. This product actually helps the before and after. The night of requires the prescription drug to get him through. Generally after the 4th there are 3 months of anxiety the dog feels. The Zyklene has helped greatly to reduce the stress and anxiety! Hard to believe something as natural and simple as this product could work but it really seems to. Only negative is the cost. Really expensive to keep the dog on it for long term.

Our 8 yr old terrier suddenly became overly, annoyingly hyper. Various products were tried without success. Vet recommended Zylkene which calmed him and we now use it daily (without fail).

One warning learned the hard way ... when leaving town for several days we forgot to give our dog sitter the Zylkene to use in our absence. Result was a disaster - our dog became extremely agitated even keeping our experienced sitter awake at night. DO NOT FORGET ZYLKENE when leaving your pet with a kennel or dog sitter.
