Description

Joint support soft chews from Nutramax Labs

Dasuquin MSM Large Dog, 84 Soft Chews is a potent joint supplement from Nutramax Labs that's recommended for dogs with arthritis or other joint pain, hip dysplasia, or even healthy dogs. This product contains glucosamine, chondroitin, MSM, and Nutramax Labs' proprietary ASU (avocado/soybean unsaponifiables) which complements the other ingredients. Dasuquin MSM Soft Chews are great for keeping your dog active and mobile because they support joint function, cartilage production, and inhibit the enzymes responsible for breaking down your pet's cartilage.

Dasuquin is the number one joint health brand recommended by veterinarians for a reason: it's made with high quality ingredients and has years of clinical use and research. Because it is a nutritional supplement, it can be used alongside NSAIDs like Rimadyl or Previcox. Even though there is no cure for arthritis in dogs, Dasuquin MSM Large Dog Soft Chews may help ease joint pain and improve your pet's quality of life.

    Directions

    Initial Period (4-6 Weeks)

    Weight Dosage
60 to 120 lbs. 2 soft chews daily

    Maintenance (After Initial Period)

    Weight Dosage
60 to 120 lbs. 1 soft chew daily

If your dog responds to Dasuquin with MSM sooner than 4-6 weeks, you may lower their dose to the Maintenance Level. Once you see consistent improvement at the Maintenance Level, you may further reduce the dose to every other day. Dogs on the Maintenance Level may have their dose increased as needed e.g. weekends or other times when they are more active.

I never thought something so simple would help my dog walk again. We thought he was going to need hip surgery again. Been great since on Dasuquin for 2 years now

Well, that's what we call them at our house. Anyway, my 6.5 year old Lab mix has been on these pretty much constantly since his two TPLO surgeries. However, earlier this year we read an article that questioned the efficacy of such products given the scarcity or research- NONE of which shows significant evidence of benefit to dogs when such supplements are taken. He was off of it for months and showed steady decline in his ability to get up easily and less confidence jumping up on the bed or even couches. He's back on them now and even after a week, I'm seeing small improvements that have convinced me that, whether or not there's scientific proof of benefit, it does benefit my guy. He loves them and they help, so he's going to get them because I love him!

Nothing works better than Dasuquin with MSM! I've tried other products, after having my old shephard (15+ years old) and his arthritis actually worsened. After restarting him on Dasuquin with MSM (difference being that it contains ASUs and other products don't), he improved back to where he was. No cure, but a marked difference in his movement.

What I do not like is that the manufacturer has gone to a "New, softer chew" which is too powdery and, by the time you get 1/2 way through the bag, the chews are starting to crumble which makes it difficult to know how much you're dosing.

My vote is this..."If it isn't broke, don't fix it." The old chew was perfect, just as it was.

    Never switch again!

    • Wonderful%20Supplement
    Cons:
    • Pricey
Our 15+ year old Shepard mix has benefited from Dasuquin with MSM for years. I saw that there was a product very similar (Glycoflex with MSM) and it was about 1/2 the price. Because of this, I decided to switch. Within about 2-3 weeks, our old boy started suffering and we were actually thinking he was nearing the end of his road. It occurred to me that it could be the different joint supplement so I ordered Dasuquin with MSM again because when doing a side-by-side comparison, I saw that contained "ASU"s which Glycoflex did not. After about 8 days, our old boy was back to his normal self. He's still suffering from limited mobility but is not in the pain that he was in and, at 15+, we can't expect that he'd run like a greyhound like he did in his younger days. We'll not switch again!
