Tri-Heart Plus for Dogs 26-50 lbs, 6 Month (Green) prevents heartworms from infecting your dog and causing heartworm disease. The ivermectin in Tri-Heart Plus is a broad-spectrum antiparasitic that kills heartworm larvae in the tissue stage. Tri-Heart (generic Heartgard Plus) also contain pyrantel pamoate to eliminate and control hookworm and roundworm infestations.

This is my first time trying a new heartworm medication. Seems good so far though as there have been no issues with either of the pups. They've been on Heartgard all their lives, but at the suggestion of a friend (a breeder and vet tech) I decided to give Tri-Heart a try. All the same ingredients and a much lower price; what's not to like? I mean if your insurance company or pharmacy can give you a generic, why wouldn't it be just as good for your dogs?
