I have a Tibetan Spaniel approximately 20 lbs that has epilepsy. His fits were not frequent, but were long in duration. As the frequency increased i looked at alternative solutions, (CBD drops vet approved, think Jaydens juice for dogs), and Phenobarbital. While Pheno is effective right a way (short half life), its expensive ($500 per year) and because of a short half life, missing a dose can allow a break thru seizure. CBD drops can work, but even more expensive than Pheno ($660+). So I opted for K-BroVet Potassium Bromide ($85 years supply) oral solution for my dogs. In the time it took to get his blood levels high enough, he had no seizures, and missed a number of days of his meds, but due to long half life no seizures. Also, this drug has been used humans for the last 200 years so it not new. While not used by most vets as the first solution, it should be checked out. Its worked for my dog no seizures nor any noticable side affects.

Works in conjunction with Phenobarbital in controlling my dog's seizures. However, as a side effect, body temperature goes up so thank goodness she takes it during dinner time then she goes out to enjoy the cool breeze.

Pros:
 • Great taste, prompt shipping.
Cons:
 • None.
Effective at controlling seizures and my dog loves the taste of this. It makes giving it to him so much easier than giving him other meds.
