Milbemycin oxime, one of Sentinel's
active ingredients, may work by interfering with invertebrate neurotransmission.
Lufenuron, the other active ingredient in Sentinel Flavor Tabs, inhibits
the development of flea eggs to break the flea life cycle and control
infestations. Lufenuron does not affect adult fleas.

Keep this product out of reach of children
and animals.
It is not know if the concurrent use
of Sentinel and Capstar is safe for pregnant or nursing dogs. It is
not know if the concurrent use of Sentinel and Capstar is safe for puppies
less than 11 weeks of age.
Sentinel is intended for use in dogs
and puppies older than 4 weeks of age and weighing more than 2 lbs.
Sentinel may cause adverse effects
in some dogs, including vomiting, urticaria, lethargy, depression, itching,
anorexia, diarrhea, ataxia, skin congestion, hypersalivation, weakness,
and convulsions.
CAUTION: It is important to
test and treat for adult heartworms before beginning preventative care
with Sentinel. Dogs carrying a large number of heartworm microfilariae
have shown hypersensitivity reactions to Sentinel that included labored
breathing, vomiting, lethargy, and salivation.
Seek immediate veterinary attention
for possible overdose. Symptoms of overdose may include depression,
vomiting, drowsiness, diarrhea, loss of appetite, seizures, hypersalivation,
and weakness.
Use caution when giving Sentinel to
dogs also taking amiodarone, azole antifungals, carvedilol, cyclosporine,
erthromycin, diltiazem, quinidine, clarithromycin, spironolactone, verapamil,
or tamoxifen.
