I now have 2 cats (both 15) on this medicine and both are doing just great. Zoey is my latest one and since being on this medicine, other than taking care of the thyroid problem, her fur is now so soft. Before it was real coarse and she also seems to have more energy.
I have been giving my cat this medication for several years now with no ill effects. I have her thyroid checked by the vet about twice a year, and go on her recommendation for dosage. I know that there is a one-time treatment for the thyroid problem, but I never thought I would be doing this for this long. My cat is almost 18.

This is a generic Tapazol and does the same thing. The VetDepot price is very good compared to the neighborhood pharmacy. Delivery was very prompt.
Methimazole is the best product that controls my cat's hypethyroidism. She hasn't always had this. January 09' she had severe weight loss and not feeling well and very soon my vet knew what was the cause. Forrest is 18 and doesn't even have any side effects. She's as healthy as she can be and I will always have this for her.

I followed my vet's orders and gave my kitty 5 mg 1xper day, but her blood test numbers did not change when we retested her. He increased the dose to 2xper day, but she wasted away and died.
