Excellent product for dogs. I used to use Interceptor because I could use it for both my dogs and for pests in my salt water reef tank (red bugs), but it's been discontinued. This stuff I like better for the dogs anyway because they like the taste of it.

<p>My 10 year old rescued mix told me he hated that other chewable stuff the corporate owned vet prescribed - pitooey, he said - and he would eat it only if broken in two and wrapped in cream cheese. So we went back to his old favorite, Heartguard, which he now happily swallows with seemingly nary a chew. Plus, he's never had heartworm.</p>

My daughter's friend recommended Heartgard for Dogs Chewables and over the past year we have found it to work wonderfully for our beagle, Roy. Prior to this, it had been a real chore to get him to take another brand of this medicine. Roy loves the taste of Heartgard and most importantly, it has kept him heartworm free. Heartgard works well and is so easy to give the dogs; they just think they're getting a treat. I love that such an awful disease is so easy and relatively inexpensive to prevent.
