Profender is only for use on cats. Do not use on
dogs or other animals. Do not use on any cat for which this medication
was not prescribed. Not for human use.
Read the instructions and precautionary statements
from the manufacturer before use.
Follow the instructions provided by your veterinarian's
prescription.
Directions:
- Use Profender for Small Cats and Kittens on pets
weighing 2.2-5.5 lbs.
- Use Profender for Medium Cats and Kittens on pets
weighing 5.6-11 lbs.
- Use Profender for Large Cats on pets weighing 11.1-17.6
lbs.
- Consult your veterinarian about the appropriate combination
of products for larger cats.
- Hold 1 tube upright and remove its cap.
- Turn the cap over and put the other end onto the
tube.
- Twist the cap to break the seal, then remove the
cap from the tube.
- Part the hair at the base of your cat's head on the back of the neck to reveal the skin.
- Place the tip of the tube on the skin and empty the
contents of the tube.
- Pull the tip of the tube off the skin before you
stop squeezing to ensure all medication is dispensed.
Frequency of Use:
Profender works with the application of one dose.
If reinfection occurs, a second dose may be applied after 30 days.
Storage:
Keep out of reach of children and animals.
Store at room temperature, between 59 and 86 degrees
F. Protect from freezing.
It is a violation of Federal
Law to use this product in a manner inconsistent with its labeling.

2.2-5.5 lbs. Active Ingredients: praziquantel 30 mg, emodepside
7.5 mg
Profender for Medium Cats and
Kittens 5.6-11 lbs. Active Ingredients: praziquantel 60.1 mg, emodepside
15 mg
Profender for Large Cats 11.1-17.6
lbs. Active Ingredients: praziquantel 96.1 mg, emodepside
24 mg
Warnings:
Keep Profender out of reach of children and animals.
Do not use or store in or near open flame or heat.
Profender is only for use on cats and kittens at
least 8 weeks old and weighing at least 2.2 lbs. that have a prescription.
Do not use on dogs, other animals, or humans.
Use as prescribed by your veterinarian.
CAUTION: Do not apply Profender to broken
skin. Do not apply when the coat is wet.
Avoid contact with the mouth and eyes. Prevent cats
from licking the area of treatment for at least 1 hour. Ingestion may
cause salivation or vomiting. Application at the base of the head on
the back of the neck minimizes risk of ingestion during grooming. Keep
other pets away from treated cats for at least 1 hour.
Keep children away from treated cats for 24 hours.
Refrain from bathing treated cats for 24 hours.
Pregnant women should avoid all contact with Profender.
Avoid application, or use gloves if necessary.
Avoid contact with human skin and eyes. Wash exposed
skin with soap and water. Flush eyes. If irritation persists, contact
a physician. In the event of accidental human ingestion, contact your
physician or a poison control center immediately. Have the package available.
Use with caution if you are allergic to butylhydroxyanisole, emodepside,
or praziquantel.
The safety of Profender in pregnant, lactating, and
breeding cats has not been shown.
The hair may appear damp, become stiff, or have a
powdery residue at the site of application. This is temporary and not
cause for concern.
Profender side effects are rare at recommended doses,
but may include licking or excessive grooming, itching at the site of
application, salivation, lethargy, alopecia, agitation, vomiting, diarrhea,
eye irritation, respiratory irritation, shaking, or tremors.
Use with caution on sick or debilitated pets and
on those with a heartworm infection.
In the event of an overdose, contact your veterinarian
right away. Signs may include salivation, tremors, or drowsiness.
Tell your veterinarian what supplements and medications
your cat takes when receiving a prescription for Profender.
Seek emergency veterinary treatment of an allergic
reaction. Signs may include facial swelling, difficulty breathing, hives,
itching, rash, and other symptoms.
