prescription.
Directions:
- Give 1.5 mL per 100 lbs. of body weight (10 mg per
2.2 lbs. of body weight).
- Administer only via subcutaneous injection. Do not
administer with an automatically powered syringe.
- Do not administer more than 15 mL in a single injection
site.
- If possible, inject under the skin on the neck. Otherwise,
inject under the skin behind the shoulders and over the ribs.
Frequency of Use:
One dose lasts for 3 days. Use exactly as prescribed.
If no improvement is seen within 48 hours, contact
your veterinarian for reconsideration of the diagnosis and course of
treatment.
Storage:
Keep out of reach of children and animals.
Store Micotil 300 at temperatures no higher than
86 degrees F. Protect from direct sunlight.
It is a violation of Federal
Law to use this product in a manner inconsistent with its labeling.
Tilmicosin, the active ingredient in Micotil 300,
is an antibiotic in the macrolide class. It is predominantly effective
against gram-positive bacteria, but also has action against some gram-negative
bacteria.
Micotil 300 Ingredients (per mL): tilmicosin 300 mg, USP as tilmicosin phosphate
in 25% propylene glycol, phosphoric acid as needed to adjust pH and
water for injection, Q.S.
Warnings:
Keep Micotil 300 out of reach of children and animals.
Do not use or store in or near open flame or heat.
Micotil 300 is only intended for use in cattle and
sheep. Do not administer to other species. Not for use in humans. Administration
to other animals is associated with severe adverse reactions, including
fatalities in swine, horses, goats, non-human primates, and humans.
For subcutaneous injection only. Intravenous injection
will result in death. Do not administer via any other route besides
subcutaneously.
Use exactly as prescribed by your veterinarian.

CAUTION: Federal (USA) law restricts
this drug to use by or on the order of a licensed veterinarian.
Avoid contact with eyes.
Use extreme caution to prevent accidental self-injection.
In the event of accidental injection in a human, apply ice to the site
of injection and contact a physician or poison control center immediately.
Note to physicians: The cardiovascular system is
the target of toxicity and should be closely monitored. Such toxicity
may be caused by calcium channel blockade.
If improvement is not seen within 48 hours, consult
your veterinarian for reconsideration of the diagnosis and treatment
plan.
The safety of Micotil 300 in pregnant, nursing, and
breeding animals has not been proven.
The safety of Micotil 300 in sheep weighing less
than 33 lbs. has not been established.
Not for use within 28 days of slaughter. Not for
use in female dairy cattle 20 months of age or older. Not for use in
lactating ewes if the milk is intended for human consumption.
Do not administer Micotil 300 with an automatically
powered syringe.
Swelling may occur at the site of injection. It is
typically mild and transient.
Micotil 300 is not generally associated with side
effects at recommended doses. Individual sensitivities may still occur.
Consult your veterinarian if you observe any adverse effects in an animal.
Ask your veterinarian before using Micotil 300 concomitantly
with any other drug or supplement.
