Usage:
For Use In: Dogs and puppies
4 weeks of age and older weighing at least 2 lbs., and cats and kittens
6 weeks of age and older weighing at least 1.5 lbs. Use this product only for dogs and
cats, as directed. Do not give to other animals.
Keep out of reach of children. Do not
allow children to handle Interceptor. Read directions and precautionary
statements before use.
The recommended minimum dosage of Interceptor
for dogs is 0.23 mg per pound of body weight.
The recommended minimum dosage of Interceptor
for cats is 0.9 mg per pounds of body weight.
Directions Dogs/Puppies:
- Offer Interceptor tablets
directly or in food.
- Give one 2.3 mg tablet to
dogs weighing 2-10 lbs.
- Give one 5.75 mg tablet
to dogs weighing 11-25 lbs.
- Give one 11.5 mg tablet
to dogs weighing 26-50 lbs.
- Give one 23.0 mg tablet
to dogs weighing 51-100 lbs.
- Use a combination of tablets
to dose dogs weighing more than 100 lbs. Consult your veterinarian for
instructions.
Directions Cats/Kittens:
- Give one 5.75 mg tablet
to cats weighing 1.5-6 lbs.
- Give one 11.5 mg tablet
to cats weighing 6.1-12 lbs.
- Give one 23 mg tablet to
cats weighing 12.1-25 lbs.
- Use a combination of tablets
to dose cats weighing more than 25 lbs. Consult your veterinarian for
instructions.
Monitor pet to ensure entire dose is
swallowed. If not, redose as soon as possible.
Frequency of Use:
Administer Interceptor within one month
of first seasonal mosquito exposure, and continue dosing once every
30 days thereafter.
Storage:
Store out of reach of children and
animals.
Store this product at room temperature
in its original packaging. Do not remove Interceptor from its packaging
until just before use.
It is a violation of Federal Law
to use this product in a manner inconsistent with its labeling.
Product Details:
Interceptor works by destroying heartworm
larvae in the tissue stage and eliminating the adult stage of whipworms,
roundworms, and hookworms. The active ingredient in Interceptor, milbemycin
oxime, interferes with the neurotransmission of the invertebrates.
Interceptor is available by veterinary
prescription.

Milbemycin Oxime 2.3 mg
Interceptor Green (Dogs 11-25 lbs,
Cats 1.5-6 lbs): Milbemycin Oxime 5.75 mg
Interceptor Yellow (Dogs 26-50 lbs,
Cats 6.1-12 lbs): Milbemycin Oxime 11.5 mg
Interceptor White (Dogs 51-100 lbs,
Cats 12.1-25 lbs): Milbemycin Oxime 23 mg
Warnings:
Keep this product out of reach of children
and animals. Do not use or store in or near open flame or heat.
Intended for use in dogs and puppies
at least 4 weeks of age and weighing more than 2 lbs, and in cats and
kittens weighing at least 1.5 lbs. that are 6 weeks of age and older.
CAUTION: All animals should
undergo testing for existing heartworm infections before beginning treatment
with Interceptor.
Side effects are not common but may
include vomiting, depression, loss of appetite, hypersalivation, drowsiness,
diarrhea, drowsiness, weakness, and seizures.
Humans in contact with pets infected
with hookworms and roundworms should take every available precaution
and practice good hygiene, as these parasites are transmissible to humans.
Symptoms of overdose are similar to
side effects and include drowsiness, depression, reduced appetite, vomiting,
diarrhea, hypersalivation, seizures, and weakness. Immediately seek
treatment for a known or suspected overdose.
Safety of using this product in breeding,
pregnant, lactating, or heartworm-positive animals has not been established.
