Zimecterin Gold is for horses at least 2 months of age. Use in younger animals may be harmful to health. Do not use in dogs or other animals. Doing so may cause death.

Read all manufacturer-provided directions and warnings prior to administration.

Use as recommended by your veterinarian.

Directions:

  1. Give 91 mcg ivermectin per pound of body weight (and 454 mcg praziquantel per pound of body weight with Zimecterin Gold). The contents of one syringe is the appropriate dose for a 1,250 lb. horse. Each weight denomination on the included syringe doses a 250-lb. body weight increment.
  2. Turn the plunger's knurled ring to the right, positioning the nearest side of the barrel at the correct dosage as determined by the animal's body weight.
  3. Ensure the horse's mouth does not contain any feed.
  4. Remove the cover from the tip of the syringe.
  5. Insert the syringe between the teeth so that its tip is over the back of the tongue.
  6. Depress the plunger all the way to administer the pre-set dose.
  7. Elevate the horse's head slightly for a few seconds.
  8. Wash your hands with soap and water.

Frequency of Use:

Zimecterin products may irritate the eyes.

Talk to your veterinarian about any side effects you notice.

Zimecterin Gold has in rare instances caused temporary swelling and irritation of the mouth, lips, or tongue.

When used in horses with severe neck threadworm microfilariae infections, Zimecterin can result in itching and swelling. This is likely due to the death of large numbers of the parasite at one time. Seek treatment of symptoms from your veterinarian.

Other simultaneous treatment may be necessary for Summer sores with extensive tissue changes.

Talk to your veterinarian about how to effectively prevent subsequent infections.

Zimecterin may harm water-dwelling organisms. Do not contaminate ground or surface water. Dispose of syringe in an approved landfill or by incineration.
