Virbantel is only for use in dogs at least 12 weeks
of age. Do not use in cats or other animals. Not for human use.
Do not permit children to administer this medication.

Follow your veterinarian's instructions for safe
and effective use of Virbantel in your dog.
Directions:
- Give 1 chewable tablet of Virbantel for Small Dogs
and Puppies to dogs weighing 6-12 lbs.
- Give 2 chewable tablets of Virbantel for Small Dogs
and Puppies to dogs weighing 12.1-25 lbs.
- Give 1 chewable tablet of Virbantel for Medium and
Large Dogs to dogs weighing 25.1-50 lbs.
- Give 2 chewable tablets of Virbantel for Medium and
Large Dogs to dogs weighing 50.1-100 lbs.
- Give 3 chewable tablets of Virbantel for Medium and
Large Dogs to dogs weighing 100.1-150 lbs.
- Give 4 chewable tablets of Virbantel for Medium and
Large Dogs to dogs weighing 150.1-200 lbs.
- Administer dose directly by hand for chewing. If
your pet does not accept the tablet(s), either place them in the back
of the throat to encourage swallowing or hide dose in a small amount
of food.
- Watch to be sure your dog consumes the entire dose,
and for a few minutes thereafter to ensure the medication is not rejected.
Frequency of Use:
Treatment is with a single dose. Your veterinarian
will determine the success of the treatment and advise you about putting
your pet on a regular regimen. Such regimens vary according to the seasonal
threats present in your area.
Storage:
Keep out of reach of children and animals.
Store Virbantel at room temperature between 59 and
86 degrees F.
It is a violation of Federal
Law to use this product in a manner inconsistent with its labeling.
Pyrantel pamoate, one of Virbantel's active ingredients,
interferes with nerve transmissions in hookworms and roundworms. This
causes paralysis or death, allowing for quick excretion of the parasites.
The other active ingredient, praziquantel, is thought to work by inhibiting
the tapeworm's ability to adhere inside your pet, permitting rapid
excretion.

Warnings:
Keep this product out of reach of children and animals.
Do not use or store in or near open flame or heat.
Virbantel is only intended for use in dogs at least
12 weeks old and weighing at least 6 lbs. Do not use in other animals.
Not for human ingestion.
Use as recommended by your veterinarian.
CAUTION: Re-treatment is sometimes necessary,
as determined by a fecal examination performed by your veterinarian.
Side effects may include diarrhea, blood in the stool,
vomiting, and decreased activity. Consult your veterinarian about any
adverse reactions you observe.
The intestinal parasites treated by Virbantel can
spread to other pets and humans. Talk to your veterinarian about proper
hygiene and preventive measures.
In the event of an allergic reaction, seek emergency
veterinary care. Signs may include difficulty breathing, sudden-onset
diarrhea, vomiting, facial swelling, rash, hives, itching, seizure,
shock, or coma.
Tell your veterinarian if your dogs is pregnant,
nursing, or intended for breeding. Tell your veterinarian what supplements
or medications your pet takes.
