My vet and I have been through several joint supplements leading up to Dasuquin MSM as we were worried that the product would upset my dogs sensitive stomachs. We did not have to worry. Both dogs are happy on Dasuquin and are back to their rowdy playful selves.

Helps with stiff joints

Rating:
Pros:
  • good price
  • effective
Cons:
  • doesn't seem to like the taste
  • pills need to be halved
My 10-year old Westie has arthritis in her front legs, and prior to putting her on Dasuquin w/MSM, she would limp and was in obvious pain after a nap or periods of inactivity. Recommeded by her vet, she's been on it for a year, but after only 4 weeks she showed an amazing improvement. No more limping and painful first steps. For small dogs it's best to cut the pills in half or crumble them into food or treats. Even the small dog size is fairly large. My dog is not crazy about the taste on its own, but a little peanut butter on the 1/2 tablet works wonders.

Highly Recommend

Rating:
Pros:
  • high quality
  • good taste
Cons:
My vet recommended this product for my dog who has had major surgery on two joints and another knee that is also at risk. Both of my dogs love the flavor and I know the quality of this product is excellent and ingredients are helpful for preventing further joint damage. Vet Depot seems to have the best price anywhere.

This product, along with quite a few other medications, was prescribed to my dog by his neurosurgeon. My dog suffered from 5 herniated discs which were operated on. After my dog healed from the surgery, I continued to give him Dasuquin MSM daily for maintenance.

I have used Dasuquin for years and after I started it, my aged Jack Russell and my arthritic Border Collie no longer showed signs of soreness. My jack lived until she was 15 1/2. My BC is 12 and still going strong. I give it to my two you ger BCs as well.

I have two German Shepherds who wandered into our yard 14 years ago. They have been great dogs but in the last year we had noticed them moaning when getting up or lying down. I heard about Dasuquin MSM from my sister who had friends that had given their dogs Dasuquin with outstanding results. I have been using Dasuquin for about 4 months now and we no longer hear the dogs moaning or even having a hard time getting up and down. I would recommend this product to anyone who has an aging dog with this problem. Also they love the chewable tablet they think its a treat.

Made a Tremendous Difference.

We have a pair of Labradoodles and enjoy Dog Agility. When my Toby turned 8 years old he was diagnosed with hip problems, they pulled out of joint. I was thinking about dropping out of Agility Trials, but my Vet encouraged me to keep him active , but lower his jump height from 24 to 16 inches. I asked her if there was anything else I could do to reduce the pain and keep him active. Her answer was, "I give my dogs Dasuquin MSM and I would recommend trying this medication with your dog."" I followed her advice and Toby just earned his Catch Award in CPE at 10 years old. Toby loves agility and we have fun together. Thank you for a Great product that has made a tremendous difference.

My 11 yr. old lab/pit mix has been taking this supplement for the past 3 yrs and has the hip range of motion of a young athletic dog. She continues to blaze the hiking trails and I know her joint health has everything to do with Dasuquin MSM. Not a day goes by that she doesn't take it. We just started our other rescue on it, but it's a little too early to tell. If your dog isn't on this product, get some now! :-)

Prevents recurrence of sports injury - also special treat!

Rating:
Pros:
Cons:
After our Cairn Terrier suffered a sports injury (knee problem from chasing squirrels), our vet recommended one Dasuquin tablet per day to help strengthen her joints. We throw it in with her breakfast and she roots around to eat it first! Three years later and no recurrence.

VetDepot has the best price I could find and service has been great.

Really works on creaky old dogs!

I first wrote a review of Dasuquin MSM for Small/Medium Dogs on 9/16/2012, shortly after starting this wonderful treatment on my 15 year-old Schnauzer, Sparky. At that time it had already reversed the rapidly deteriorating condition of his joints, which by then had gotten to where he could hardly walk around the house, let alone go for our customary two miles of so most days. Well, now, some five months later, he has improved remarkably, to the point we are going for long walks about every other day, and he even does some moderate running around the yard. I am continuing the "starter" dosage of two tablets per day, as I think it is not worth the risk of under-medication to cut back the dosage. I do want to add that I have been feeding him raw, lean meat for about the past month, along with the Dasuquin, and I think that has improved his muscles and reversed some of the muscle-loss that normally comes with advanced age. I am absolutely sold on this product.

Really works...

Both of my dogs experience some joint discomfort but since we've been giving them these tablets, they no longer limp and tackle stairs just fine. And they think they're treats!

Recommend it!!

Rating:
Pros:
  • price is good
  • dog will love it
  • quality
Cons:
I had taken my dog to vet due to pain in the hind leg. My husband I were very concerned, especially that she was only a year old. My dog is mixed, black lab and chow. Labs are very prone to hip dysplasia. Our vet recommended for us to give her daily for the rest of her life dasuquin. She has been taking it for the past two years and we have been very blessed she has had no problems whatsoever. She runs very fast and a lot. The good thing about this tablet is she likes to take it because its liver flavored and chewy.

So far it looks good.

  • None that I know of.
Sparky is a mostly-schnauzer pound-puppy now 15 years and three months old. He has severe hip and shoulder-joint stiffness and, I think, associated inflammation and pain. About a month ago a friend who has rescued dogs told me that her vet had recommended Dasuquin for her aging Brittany with similar problems. So, I bought some and have been giving the two-a-day dosage to Sparky ever since. Already I can say that what was a very rapidly-worsening condition has definitely stopped getting worse and I think it is incrementally better. I anticipate that it will improve at least some more and then plateau. I wish we had known about the product a few years ago, but in any case Sparky is better, and a lot more comfortable, and able to go on moderately long walks.

Very good for my dogs

Rating:
Pros:
Cons:
My dogs love this product and it helps them with their bone and joint issues and pain so much. Both dogs absolutely love the taste of this as well, which is a plus. No disguising it in dog food at all, they gobble it right down. Their joint pain is so much better with this product and so far, no tummy issues with it either and they have been on it for several months now.
