We have been dealing with a horse that has COPD for 3 years now and she has progressively gotten worst, coughing everyday, wheezing every time we cut the grass or the farmers next to us plow the fields or when general allergy's set in. Up till now we have just been giving her Dex shots when needed, this year she needed more than usual so we decided to add the albuterol 2x a day. This has made a huge difference, my daughter was able to compete at county fair without any worries. With all of the dust of the arena she had no breathing issues at all, she was cough free all week. And remains to breath much easier. We just pore it over her food.
