DL-Methionine Supplement for Dogs and Cats

Methio-Form urinary acidifier medications for dogs and cats work as a supplemental source of DL-Methionine. Methio-Form pet meds help maintain an acidic urine which prevents urinary tract infections (cystitis).

Methio-Form acidifies the urine in cats and dogs to treat and prevent some types of bladder stones and to prevent urinary tract infections (UTIs). It also helps treat and prevent feline urological syndrome in cats. In addition, Methio-Form tempers strong urine odor in pets.

Benefits of Methio-Form:

  • Helps prevent UTIs
  • Prevents and dissolves some types of urinary stones
  • Aids in the treatment and prevention of feline urological syndrome
  • Lessens potent urine odors
  • Supplies the essential amino acid DL-methionine
  • Easily administered, palatable scored chewable tablets

Methio-Form is only for use in cats and dogs. Do not administer to other species. Do not use in any pet for which it was not prescribed. Not for use in humans.

Read all manufacturer-provided instructions and precautionary statements prior to use.

Dosing and the frequency of administration vary depending on a number of factors, including your pet's tolerance for the medication and urinary pH, as well as the purpose of treatment. Your veterinarian may monitor your pet's urinary pH and adjust the dosing accordingly during use. The following directions represent a standard use; administer Methio-Form exactly as prescribed by your veterinarian.

Directions:

  1. Feed Methio-Form directly by hand or crumble it and mix it in with a small amount of food. Give with food if administering directly.
  2. Give cats ½ to 1 tablet per 2.5-3 lbs. of body weight daily.
  3. Give ½ to 4 tablets daily to dogs weighing up to 15 lbs.
  4. Give 2 to 7 tablets daily to dogs weighing 15-33 lbs.
  5. Give 4 to 13 tablets daily to dogs weighing 33-66 lbs.
  6. Use as prescribed in larger dogs.

Frequency of Use:

Methio-Form is usually given once per day. However, large doses are sometimes divided, as are doses for animals prone to vomiting from a single dose (which is rare). Use as prescribed.

Storage:

Keep out of reach of children and animals.

Store Methio-Form at room temperature, protected from moisture, light, and heat.

It is a violation of Federal Law to use this product in a manner inconsistent with its labeling.

Methio-Form delivers the essential amino acid DL-Methionine. This compound acidifies the urine to make the urinary tract inhospitable to bacteria that can cause infections. The acidity of the urine also promotes the dissolution of bladder stones, lessens strong urinary odors, and combats feline urological syndrome.

Methio-Form Active Ingredients (per tablet): DL-Methionine 500 mg in a palatable protein base
