Kitten Milk Replacer and Supplements

KMR is a line of nutritional supplements and milk replacers for cats and kittens. KMR Powder and Liquid help rejected or orphan kittens get the proper nutrition. 2nd Step Weaning Food helps transition growing kittens from milk to solid food.

KMR is a leading milk replacement product for orphaned and rejected kittens and for those requiring supplemental intake. It also serves as a dietary supplement, particularly for growing kittens, pregnant and lactating queens, and convalescing pets. KMR is nutritionally dense with highly absorbable nutrients and formulated to be as similar to natural queen's milk as possible.

The nutritional and feeding needs of individual kittens and cats vary. Use as recommended by your veterinarian.

Directions:

  1. Consult your veterinarian about a proper feeding schedule specific to your pet.
  2. If using the powdered form of KMR, reconstitute at a ratio of 1 part powder to 2 parts warm water. Shake or stir well. Do not mix in a blender.
  3. Serve KMR at between room and body temperature.
  4. In general, feed kittens 2 tbsp. liquid per 4 oz of body weight.
  5. Divide the day's total intake into appropriately spaced feedings consisting of equal quantities.
  6. For supplemental use feed 1 tbsp. KMR liquid per 5 lbs. of body weight daily. If using KMR powder, mix 2 tsp. per 5 lbs. of body weight into daily rations for pregnant and lactating queens, continuing administration until 2 weeks after queening; mix 1 tsp. per 5 lbs. of body weight into daily rations for other supplemental uses.

Frequency of Use:

Typically, small and weak kittens should be fed every 3 to 4 hours, while other kittens can be fed about every 8 hours. Your veterinarian should instruct you on properly scheduling your pet's meals.

Storage:

Keep out of reach of children and animals.

Store unopened KMR liquid at controlled room temperature. Refrigerate after opening. Use, discard, or freeze within 3 days after opening. Do not freeze in the original container.

Store unopened KMR powder at controlled room temperature. Protect from moisture. Refrigerate opened powder for up to 3 months or freeze for up to 6 months. Do not freeze in the original container. Reconstituted KMR powder must be refrigerated and used or discarded within 24 hours.

Warnings:

Keep KMR out of reach of children and animals. Do not use or store in or near open flame or heat.

KMR is only intended for kittens and cats. Do not feed to other species. Not for human ingestion.

CAUTION: Whenever possible, kittens should consume colostrum for at least 2 days to acquire their mother's antibodies.

The frequency of an animal's bowel movements and the consistency of the stool reflect on whether or not the diet is appropriate. If a kitten or cat becomes constipated, develops diarrhea, or has watery stool, consult your veterinarian.

Kittens should be fed with clean equipment. Wash equipment with soap and hot water after use.

KMR powder is packaged by weight, not volume. Some settling may occur.
