Horse Grooming and Wound Care

Aloe Advantage provides products grooming, skin care, and health products with aloe vera for horses. Aloe Advantage promotes quick healing for skin conditions and moisturizes and strengthens coat hair without irritation. The Matrix 3 Step Wound Care System allows you to quickly, easily, and safely cleanse, treat, and restore your horse's cuts and abrasions with aloe vera, phenol, and allantoin.

Aloe Advantage products cleanse, provide wound care, soothe the skin, and/or offer other benefits for horses (and, in some cases, other animals). Aloe Shampoo (formerly Aloe-Med Shampoo), Revive Sports Rub, Aloe Crème (Aloe Salve), and the Matrix 3-Step System products all contain aloe vera and are scientifically formulated to be gentle and effective.

  • Matrix 3-Step System Wound Care packages contain an antibacterial wound cleanser and numbing agent, a nourishing hydrogel to help prevent infection and to accelerate healing, and First Aid Aloe Crème (Aloe Salve)

Read all label instructions and precautions before use.

Consult your veterinarian about using an Aloe Advantage product on your horse(s) or other animal(s).

Aloe Shampoo Directions:

  1. Wet the animal's coat thoroughly with warm water.
  2. Mix 1 to 2 oz shampoo in 1 gallon of water or apply directly to sponge.
  3. Lather product over the coat.
  4. Let stand for 5 to 10 minutes.
  5. Rinse completely.
  6. Repeat application on heavily soiled sites.
  7. Towel-dry the animal.

Revive Sports Rub Directions:

  1. Apply product directly to the legs, shoulders, neck, poll, or affected sites.
  2. Massage in until product disappears.
  3. Use on sprains, swollen or stiff legs and backs, or other sources of muscular discomfort.

First Aid Aloe Crème (Aloe Salve) Directions:

  1. Use on minor wounds, burns, rope burns, and sores
  2. Clean the affected area. For best results, use the Matrix Wound Cleanser Spray. For more serious problems, also use the Matrix Hydrogel Treatment.
  3. Cover affected area, including a margin of a few inches around it, with the product.

Matrix 3-Step System Directions:

  1. Spray First Aid Cleanser with Phenol over the injury as the first step in care.
  2. Spray First Aid Hydrogel Treatment over the affected area as the second step in care.
  3. Use First Aid Aloe Crème (Aloe Salve) as described above as the third step in care.

Frequency of Use:

Use Aloe Shampoo as needed or as recommended by your veterinarian. Apply Revive Sports Rub daily during heavy training or activity, or as needed. Use First Aid Aloe Crème (Aloe Salve) 1 to 3 times per day as recommended by your veterinarian until hair growth is complete. Apply components of the Matrix 3-Step System as directed by your veterinarian.

CAUTION: Avoid contact with eyes. If contact occurs, flush well with plenty of clean water. Consult your veterinarian if irritation persists.

Consult your veterinarian before using an Aloe Advantage product on a deep wound, serious burn, or other significant injury.

If an animal's condition gets worse with application, or if undue irritation results, discontinue use and consult your veterinarian.

Check with your veterinarian before using an Aloe Advantage product in combination with any other topical supplements or medications.
