The active ingredient in Worm Protector, pyrantel
pamoate, is a compound belonging to the tetrahydropyrimidines family.
It is an oral wormer that works by causing sudden muscular contraction
and then paralysis of the offending parasite. This results in the parasite
losing its grip on the animal's intestinal wall. Once this occurs, the
parasite is passed through the system naturally.
