Digestive Enzymes for Dogs and Cats

Viokase-V is a replacement supplement intended to aid digestion of carbohydrates, fat, and protein in cases of exocrine pancreatic insufficiency. Regular use of the supplement eliminates symptoms of pancreatic insufficiency, including weight loss, diarrhea, flatulence, vomiting, lethargy, and other symptoms, and improves quality of life in dogs and cats.

For use in cats and dogs only. Do not give to other animals. Do not allow children to handle or give Viokase-V.

Directions:

1. Administer the tablets before each meal. Alternatively, add the powder to moistened dry or canned dog food and mix thoroughly to ensure the powder comes into contact with the food.
2. Allow the powder and food mixture to sit for 20 minutes to enhance digestion.
3. Give dogs 2 to 3 tablets or 3/4 to 1 teaspoonful of powder with each meal, preferably at least three times per day.
4. Give cats 1/2 to 1 tablet or 1/4 to 3/4 teaspoonful of powder with each meal.
5. Adjust the dosage as necessary based on the normality of the feces and the presence of symptoms.

Frequency of Use:

Viokase-V should be given at least three times per day for maximum benefit. In most cases, treatment will need to continue for the life of your pet.

Storage:

Store Viokase-V at room temperature, below 77 degrees F, and in a tightly closed container. Keep away from animals and children.

It is a violation of Federal Law to use this product in a manner inconsistent with its labeling.

Viokase-V is activated whole raw porcine pancreas for use as replacement therapy in cases of exocrine pancreatic insufficiency. Based on in vitro evidence, each tablet contains enough pancreatic enzymes to digest 57 g protein, 33 g fat, and 64 g starch, and each teaspoonful of powder contains enough to digest 388 g protein, 260 g fat, and 460 g starch.

Viokase-V is available as a powder in 4 oz, 8 oz, and 12-oz containers. The supplement is also available as a 425 mg tablet in 500-count bottles.

Viokase-V Tablet Ingredients (per tablet): Lipase 9,000 USP units, Protease 57,000 USP units, Amylase 64,000 USP units

Viokase-V Powder Ingredients (per 1 tsp or 2.8 gm): Lipase 71,400 USP units, Protease 388,000 USP units, Amylase 460,000 USP units

Warnings:

Keep this product out of reach of children and animals. Do not use or store in or near open flame or heat.

Viokase-V is intended for use in cats and dogs only. Do not give to other animals or to humans.

CAUTION: Consult your veterinarian if your animal's symptoms worsen or fail to improve during treatment with Viokase-V.

Do not use in animals with a known sensitivity to any ingredient in this product.

Although this supplement is not usually associated with side effects, report any change in your pet's health or behavior to your veterinarian.

Tell your veterinarian about any drugs or supplements your pet is taking before beginning therapy with Viokase-V.
