block the production of glucocorticoids, sex hormones, and mineralocorticoids
while steroid precursor levels increase.
Active ingredients: Trilostane

Vetoryl may cause hypoadrenocorticism
at any dose. It may take several months for adrenal function to return
to normal. Some dogs may never regain proper adrenal function.

if these signs develop.
It is not know if Vetoryl is safe for
use in lactating dogs or in males intended for breeding.
Adverse reactions may include vomiting,
diarrhea, reduced appetite, lethargy, weakness, depression, hemorrhagic

Treat overdose with corticosteroids,
mineralocorticoids, and intravenous fluids.
Use ACE inhibitors cautiously in animals
being treated with Vetoryl. Both medications lower aldosterone, potentially
impairing the dog's ability to maintain normal levels of electrolytes,
blood volume, and renal perfusion. Do not use Vetoryl with potassium
sparing diuretics. Doing so increases the risk of hyperkalemia.
If Swallowed: Seek medical attention
immediately and bring the product label and container with you when
doing so.
If on Skin: Wash hands thoroughly
using soap and clean water. This medication is associated with early
pregnancy loss and teratogenic effects and should not be handled by
pregnant persons or those trying to conceive.
