Ventipulmin is only for use in horses. Do not administer
to other animals. Not for use in humans.
Do not permit children to give this medication to
horses.
Read all instructions and precautionary statements
included from the manufacturer before use.
Follow your veterinarian's prescription exactly.
Directions:
- Remove the safety cap and seal and attach the dispensing
cap.
- Take the cover off the dispensing tip and connect
the syringe.
- Draw in the appropriate dose.
- Administer 0.5 mL per 100 lbs. of body weight twice
daily for 3 days.
- Administer 1.0 mL per 100 lbs. of body weight twice
daily for 3 days if no improvement is seen with the initial dosing.
- Administer 1.5 mL per 100 lbs. of body weight twice
daily for 3 days if there is still no improvement.
- Administer 2.0 mL per 100 lbs. of body weight twice
daily for 3 days if there is still no improvement.
- Treat for 30 days, or for the prescribed duration.
- Replace cover over dispensing tip after administration
and return the safety cap to the bottle.
- If no improvement is seen after 3 days at 2.0 mL,
discontinue treatment and consult your veterinarian because the horse
is not responsive to clenbuterol.
- If signs reappear after the first 30-day regimen,
another may be administered.
Storage:
Keep out of reach of children and animals.
Store Ventipulmin at room temperature between 59
and 86 degrees F. Protect from freezing.
It is a violation of Federal
Law to use this product in a manner inconsistent with its labeling.
Clenbuterol, the active ingredient in Ventipulmin,
is a bronchodilator. It relaxes the airways to facilitate better breathing.
Ventipulmin typically requires 2 oral doses per day.
Ventipulmin Active Ingredient
(per mL): 72.5 mcg clenbuterol HCl
Warnings:
Keep Ventipulmin out of reach of children and animals.
Do not use or store in or near open flame or heat.
Ventipulmin is only intended for use in horses. Do
not give to other animals. Do not use in humans.
Use as prescribed by your veterinarian.
CAUTION: Ventipulmin antagonizes the
effects of prostaglandin F2 alpha and oxytocin.
Not for use in pregnant mares near term or in horses
with impaired cardiovascular function.
Do not use in horses intended for food.
The safety of this medication for breeding horses
has not been established.
It is not recommended that the initial dosing be
higher than 0.5 mL per 100 lbs. of body weight.
In the event of human ingestion, contact a physician
or poison control center immediately. Have the label on hand. Ingestion
may have effects on the cardiovascular system. Elevated pulse rate,
changes in blood pressure, and/or ECG changes may occur.
Side effects may include perspiration, hives, restlessness,
muscle tremors, and tachycardia. These are more likely during the first
few days of treatment. Ventipulmin may rarely cause elevated creatine
kinase (CK) serum levels or ataxia. If adverse reactions are severe
or persistent, contact your veterinarian.
Consult your veterinarian before administering any
other drugs or supplements to horses during treatment with Ventipulmin.
If you know of or suspect an overdose, contact your
veterinarian right away.
Some equine associations may prohibit the use of
this medication.
Keep the safety cap on the bottle during storage.
