in animals. The antibiotic treats infections quickly to prevent a worsening
of symptoms and potentially serious complications.

Directions:
- Administer this medication at least 2 hours before
or after meals. Tetracycline should be given on an empty stomach.
- Give dogs 10 mg per lb. of body weight every 8 hours.
- Give cats 9 mg per lb. of body weight every 8 to
12 hours.
- Follow your veterinarian's prescribed dose if it
differs from the standard dose.
Frequency of Use:
Duration of treatment depends on the type and severity
of infection. Tetracycline should be continued for the entire prescribed
period. Early discontinuation may result in a return of infection.
Storage:
Store Tetracycline in the original container, tightly
closed. Keep at room temperature, away from excess light, moisture,
and heat. Do not store Tetracycline in the bathroom or next to the kitchen
sink. Discard once the expiration date is reached. Keep away from pets
and children.
It is a violation of Federal
Law to use this product in a manner inconsistent with its labeling.
Tetracycline is a bacteriostatic antibiotic that
works by inhibiting bacteria from forming important proteins, thereby
reducing their growth and/or causing their death. Remaining bacteria
are weakened and more easily killed by white blood cells.

Tetracycline is intended for use in cats and dogs
only. Do not administer this antibiotic to other animals or to humans.
CAUTION: Side effects may include diarrhea,
vomiting, drowsiness, and reduced appetite.
Use cautiously in dogs and cats with impaired kidney
or liver function.
Tetracycline may cause tooth discoloration and slowed
bone growth when given to pregnant, nursing, and young animals.
Use with caution if your animal is currently taking
warfarin or digoxin.
Avoid giving vitamin supplements, antacids, and similar
medications less than 1 hour before or 4 hours after administering Tetracycline.
Symptoms of overdose include vomiting, reduced appetite,
and diarrhea. Seek veterinary attention for a known or suspected overdose.
Do not use this medication in animals with a known
allergy to it or to similar medications.
