Pyrantel Pamoate Dewormer for Horses
Strongid T is an oral wormer. It eliminates large
and small strongyles, large roundworms, and pinworms. The palatable
suspension may be fed directly with an oral syringe, added to the animal's
feed, or administered as a drench. It kills adult intestinal worms,
but not immature forms, necessitating a regular treatment regimen.
Strongid T removes a variety of intestinal parasites
from horses and ponies. It is effective against large strongyles, small
strongyles, large roundworms, and pinworms. This highly palatable deworming
product is well tolerated and safe for all ages.

Use exactly as prescribed by your veterinarian.
Directions:
- Shake well and stir before every use. Strongid T
is a liquid suspension, meaning its parts will separate. They must be
thoroughly rejoined for proper dosing.
- Administer 3 mg pyrantel pamoate per pound of body
weight (6 mL Strongid T per 100 lbs. of body weight).
- For direct administration, position an oral syringe
over the back of the horse or pony's tongue and depress the plunger. Do not expose the
product to direct sunlight during dosing or administration.
- For administration with feed, pour the appropriate
dose over a normal grain meal.
- For administration as a drench, mix measured dose
with the desired quantity of water. Protect the drench from direct sunlight
and administer it immediately with a stomach tube.
Frequency of Use:
It is recommended that foals be treated every 4 weeks
between the ages of 2 and 8 months. Pregnant mares should be treated
1 month before the expected foaling date and again 10 to 14 days after
giving birth. Administer Strongid T once every 6 weeks to horses and
ponies over the age of 8 months.
Storage:
Keep out of reach of children and animals.
Store Strongid T at room temperature below 86 degrees
F. Do not expose to direct sunlight.
Do not store product diluted for use as a drench.
Use immediately.
It is a violation of Federal
Law to use this product in a manner inconsistent with its labeling.
Strongid T contains pyrantel pamoate. This compound
paralyzes susceptible adult worms in the gastrointestinal tract, allowing
for their easy expulsion via bowel movements. It is an orally administered
liquid suspension that requires shaking before all uses.
Warnings:
Keep Strongid T out of reach of children and animals.
Do not use or store in or near open flame or heat. Protect from direct
sunlight.
Strongid T is only intended for use in horses and
ponies. Do not administer to other species. Do not use in humans.
For oral administration only.
CAUTION: Federal law restricts this
drug to use by or on the order of a licensed veterinarian.
Use at recommended doses is not associated with side
effects. However, the possibility of individual sensitivities and reactions
exists with any drug. Consult your veterinarian if an animal experiences
any adverse effects with use of Strongid T.
Strongid T is a suspension that will separate during
storage. It is essential that its parts be rejoined with shaking and
stirring before every use.
Not for use in severely debilitated animals.
Not for use in animals intended for food.
Strongid T does not have an effect on common horse
bots. It is safe for concurrent administration with carbon disulfide.
Consult your veterinarian before concomitantly administering
any other drugs or supplements.
