A good product...but are we having a bad year for ticks?
I've used Frontline for years and have been very happy with how well it's worked. This year, however, I've found a tick on one of my dogs on two different occasions--maybe Virginia is just having a really bad year for ticks (I've heard indications that this may be so). That notwithstanding, Frontline has served me and my various dogs well for quite a while with no side effects or any other difficulties, and I'm going to stick with it unless the tick problem persists.
Local pet stores here charge nearly 50% more for Frontline than VetDepot does--even with the unfortunately high shipping charge, it's still a bargain.
Doesn't work
I bought this product because it was recommended by my vet. I have pulled more live, fully engorged ticks from my dog in a two week's time than with any other product I have ever used. As a matter of fact, my other dog who has chronic kidney disease and I can't use any topical product on has only had one tick and they are both walked together in the same area. I would not recommend this product and plan on informing my vet about this as well.
