I have to give him the pill in a pillpocket (after many attempts otherwise), but he takes it very easily now.

I give my 17 pound pomeranian two of these tablets because the green one is too big a pill for her to swallow. My vet says the additional pill can't hurt the dog. My only concern is that the pills are coated. The coating prevents full digestion of the pill as observed by me on many occasions when the whole pill is seen in the dog's stool. I get around this by scoring the tablet with a razor before administering to the dog. I just wonder how much of the active ingredient is getting into the dog and not being destroyed by the stomach acids (the reason for the coating, I'm told)

My cat was diagnosed with liver issues about two years ago. He was treated for a short time with Denamarin and then removed from it, to see how his liver had healed. It was determined by his vet that he needed to be on the medication long-term and he has responded well to the combination of Denamarin and Lipoforms. He will probably always have to be on them both, but VetDepot has the best price I have found for this product, nearly 1/2 of what I have to pay at the vet's office and I consider my vet to charge very reasonable prices for medication. My 3 pound Chihuahua is 6 years old she had her gallbladder removed and her liver stays elevated. Although through all this she stays spunky and the happiest she has ever been since starting Denamarin. I highly recommend it,even though she stays elevated on her tests. I had to put my 15 year old cat on Denamarin and Ursodiol for liver function and inflamed intestines. She had lost a lot of weight and her fur was dry and flaky. My beloved cat has been on Denosyl and Silymarin or (since it's arrived on the market) Denamarin for 8 years. Initially it was prescribed for liver troubles(now resolved), then as a supplement to offset the harmful effects of the predisone he takes for asthma.
