Vetmedin 1.25 mg, 50 Chewable Tablets is a pimobendan medication that is used to treat some types of congestive heart failure in dogs. Amazing Medication
My dog is 15 and was diagnosed with an enlarged heart which was pressing on his trachea causing him to have difficulty breathing. When we brought him to the vet they put him on Vetmedin and WOW! after a few days he was back to himself and his prognosis is good for him to live actively for sometime more. It actually saved his life. I'm sure this may not be typical but it bought us some extra time with our precious little dog.
Contridicts reports of bad prescriptions online
My vet was very much against using a mail order company for my special needs IG rescue. However, after much research, including contacting a friend in DEA, I decided to give VetDepot a try. The Vetmedin appears to be working as well as the meds provided by my vet; plus they are half the cost. Delivery is very timely, and the customer service has been excellent. I would highly recommend VetDepot to anyone needing prescriptions for their pets.
Follow up to a previous review
Hey all, I wrote some unflattering things in a previous review because I was frustrated at the length of time it took to get my order. Just a reminder to ALL out there that the Vet Depot people are working as hard as they can. If you order over a holiday weekend it's going to take longer because A) your vet is probably closed then too; B) the US postal service isn't working then either; C) the cuts in the post office mean slower service overall; and D) Even the Vet Depot peeps need a break now and then.
I was so impressed that there was an immediate follow up to my previous review, both in an email and via US mail in the form of a cute card from the customer service staff. THIS is why I will use VetDepot again and again and again. Thanks Erin and staff -- you rock!!!

Good News and Bad News
The good news pertains to what most people have said about these meds. They DO improve the quality of life for our dogs suffering congestive heart failure and they are about half the price that my vet charges for the exact same medicine.
The bad news comes in the form of customer service. I made the mistake of ordering on the Thursday before a Memorial Day weekend and my order didn't ship until 5 days later. The rest may fall under the responsibility of the US Postal service, but my order didn't arrive for another 8 days. It was frustrating and scary because my dog nearly ran out of medication.
