Beats paying for monthly shots from vet

I started buying this product from Vet Depot about a year ago. I was happy to have found it, since I could save by giving my dog her shots myself. However, I'm disappointed that the price has increased so much. The first time I bought Percorten, it was around $169. But, the price has gone up every time I've bought it. My vet's rate hasn't gone up.

Thanks to this injectable medication we have had many more memories from our Dogo/Staffordshire dog. She was diagnosed in 2007 and Percorten-V and Prednisone are the only medications she needs to keep smiling, playing and being part of our family.

Thank you Vet Depot for providing me with Percorten for my 10 year old Labrador. I was paying double at the Vet and was considering finding Bayley a new home because I just couldn't afford his meds any longer. Because of Vet Depot I do not have to consider that option anymore.

Being able to order this online at prices much less than what a vet charges is so helpful. My 65 lb dog started at 2mL every 35 days and is now down to 1.8 and doing just fine. So all of his medications come to under $100 per month. Another online vet pharmacy I used to use just suddenly disappeared, so I'm happy VetDepot remains an option for Percorten. I know there is a pill option for Addison's disease, but this is just so much easier and consistent. My 8 year old dog has been on this for 4 years after a brush with death until he was diagnosed. He's in perfect health now.

When we finally found out what was causing Bandit to be lethargic and act old before his time, it was bittersweet. The Addison's Disease robbed him of his youthful, playful disposition. Now, with Percorten, he is his silly, playful self again. VetDepot made it possible for us to afford his monthly injection. In addition, the customer service here is the best around!

As you can see from many posts above, this medication has allowed my family (& many others) to effectively treat/manage Addison's disease and has given us more QUALITY time with the pets we all love so much. Though this is not a cheap drug - $180 a vial, of which my 145 lb Newfoundland goes through once a month - I have not found another website, pharmacy or vet that can compete with VetDepot's pricing. If I bought through my vet for example, I'd have to pay $220. That's $40 more a month vs. VetDepot, or close to $500 more a year! And I have to add that VetDepot's customer service is above outstanding. They are incredibly nice, helpful, ALWAYS return phone calls immediately, and always go out of their way to ensure that the product ships out quickly. I will never shop anywhere else because to me, through their caring attitude, not only does that make me feel good but I genuinely believe that they care about the well being of my Newfie. Thank you SO MUCH!

Percorten-V keeps my 11 year old dog young and chasing his litter mate sister. It has definitely extended his quality of life though his Addison's Disease.

In addition, as the owner of a pet who required Percorten-V on a monthly basis, it is imperative the medicine arrive in a timely manner. Vet Depot has never let us down after 3 years of service!

My Doberman was recently diagnosed with Addison's disease. The vet suggested looking online for a less expensive alternative. VetDepot had the cheapest price. It was extremely easy to get the prescription in and the product was shipped quickly and for free. The customer service was excellent. I won't shop anywhere else!

Percorten - A literal life saver

Rating:
review-star review-star review-star review-star review-star
Pros:
Cons:
Percorten was a literal life saver for my dog, along with of course quick and decisive action by my vet. My Newfoundland had been showing some signs of lethargy and loss of appetite but I attributed it to his recent ACL surgery. His condition quickly deteriorated and I took him into the vet and they gave him some IV fluids and sent him home. When I woke the next day, my Newf was on the ground panting heavily and could not get up under his own power. He literally collapsed when he tried to get up. I slung a harness under his back legs to try to help him and he still could not get up. I quickly grabbed him under his belly and bear-dragged him out to my car (he's a Newf, not easy to carry) and got him into the vet ASAP. They quickly got him on IV and started running tests and diagnosed him with Addison's disease, or adrenal gland failure. Thank goodness they diagnosed this quickly as they said he was in shock and would have most likely died if he had not received immediate attention. Through IV fluids, and then a daily/monthly maintenance of Percorten with a small dose of Prednisone, my dog is back to normal! The only adverse things about Percorten are the loss of hair - if he gets shaved behind his ears for instance, the hair has trouble growing back. Percorten is also very hard on their kidney(s) so I use Milk Thistle to try to counter act it. In the end though, I'm fairly certain the steroids will cause some organ failure but without it, he would never have made it. Percorten is also very expensive, as my dog is upwards of 130lbs he requires a whole vial every month to the tune of almost $200 a pop with shipping and injection fee. But at the end of the day, he's my best friend and I would do anything for him! Love Vet Depot they are quick with shipping, always call back in a timely fashion, great customer service, etc..
