Dog and Cat Kidney Supplements

Renal K+ is a potassium supplement that also includes B-complex vitamins. The highly palatable gel and powder forms supply potassium for cats and dogs with a deficiency. Renal K+ is an important treatment for pets with hypokalemia (potassium deficiency) associated with chronic kidney disease.

Dosages vary depending on the individual needs of the animal, and they may be adjusted by your veterinarian as needed according to the results of blood tests. The following directions represent a standard use in adult cats and dogs. Use as recommended by your veterinarian.

Directions:

1. Administer 1/2 tsp. (2.5 mL) per every 10 lbs. of body weight of Renal K+ gel twice daily.
2. Alternatively, administer 1 level scoop (530 mg) per every 10 lbs. of body weight of Renal K+ powder twice daily.
3. Feed Renal K+ directly to your pet, or mix it into a small serving of food.

Frequency of Use:

Typical usage calls for administration of Renal K+ two times per day. Use as directed by your veterinarian.

Storage:

Keep out of reach of children and animals.

Store products at controlled room temperature.

It is a violation of Federal Law to use this product in a manner inconsistent with its labeling.

Renal K+ (potassium gluconate)

Renal K+ Gel is packaged in 5-oz tubes. Tubes are sold individually or in packs of 3 and 6. Each 1/2 tsp. (2.5 mL) provides 2mEq of potassium (as potassium gluconate).

Renal K+ Powder is packaged in 100-g containers. Containers are sold individually or in packs of 3 and 6. Each level scoop (530 mg) provides 2.2mEq of potassium (as potassium gluconate).

Renal K+ is intended only for use in cats and dogs. Do not feed to other animals. Not for use in humans.

Administer Renal K+ as recommended by your veterinarian.

CAUTION: Not for use in cats and dogs with acute, oliguric, anuric or very advanced kidney failure. Not for use in animals with any condition that may cause elevated potassium levels (hyperkalemia), such as acute dehydration, an obstruction of the urethra, or adrenal insufficiency.

Use with caution in animals with heart disease, and especially in those that are digitalized.

In the event of a known or suspected overdose, contact your veterinarian immediately.

Consult your veterinarian before administering any other supplements or drugs concurrently with Renal K+.
