Dog and Cat Neomycin Polymyxin Antibiotics

Neomycin, Polymyxin B, Dexamethasone Ophthalmic Suspension and Ointment reduce inflammation associated with a variety of ocular conditions while protecting the eyes from potentially damaging bacterial infections. The product also helps corneal injury caused by thermal or chemical burns, chronic anterior uveitis, and injury from the penetration of foreign bodies.

Use this product exactly as directed by your veterinarian. Your pet's dosing schedule may vary depending on the type of infection and other factors.

Do not allow children to handle or apply Neomycin, Polymyxin B, Dexamethasone Ophthalmic drops or ointment.

Use care when administering this medication. Do not allow the opening of the tube or the dropper to touch any surface. This includes counters, hands, and your pet's eyes. The dropper and tube opening are sterile and can be contaminated by environmental bacteria or other infective agents, potentially leading to serious eye infections.

Ointment Directions:

1. Clean the eye(s) with warm water to remove any crusting.
2. Place one hand under your pet's chin and lift the head so that eyes are facing upward.
3. Use a clean finger to gently pull down the lower lid on your pet's eye.
4. Apply 1/8-inch strip to each affected eye from the inside corner to the outer corner. The tube opening should be about 1/4 inch from your pet's lower eyelid during application.
5. Hold the treated eyelid shut and massage to disperse the product.
6. Repeat every 4 to 6 hours, or as directed by your veterinarian.

Suspension Directions:

1. Clean the eye(s) with warm water to remove any crusting.
2. Place one hand under your pet's chin and lift the head so that eyes are facing upward.
3. Shake the drops and then apply 1-2 drops to the inside corner of each affected eye.
4. Continue holding the head back for a full minute to allow the drops to spread across the entire eye surface.
5. Repeat every 4 to 6 hours, or as directed by your veterinarian.

Storage:

Store at room temperature, away from heat and moisture. Keep out of reach of children and animals. Keep the tube or bottle tightly closed at all times.

It is a violation of Federal Law to use this product in a manner inconsistent with its labeling.

Neomycin and Polymyxin B are broad-spectrum antibiotics effective against a range of bacteria. Dexamethasone is a corticosteroid that reduces inflammation in the eye.

Neomycin, Polymyxin B, Dexamethasone Ophthalmic Suspension and Ointment are available only by prescription.

Warnings:

Keep this product out of reach of children and animals. Do not use or store in or near open flame or heat.

Only use Neomycin, Polymyxin B, Dexamethasone Ophthalmic drops or ointment on the animal to which it was prescribed.

CAUTION: Do not use Neomycin, Polymyxin B, Dexamethasone Ophthalmic suspension drops or topical ointment for cases of vaccinia, herpes simplex keratitis, varicella, or other viral diseases that affect the conjunctiva and cornea unless specifically told to do so by your veterinarian. Do not use in cases of mycobacterial infections or fungal diseases.
