Antibiotic Pet Meds with Tetracaine Powder

Neo-Predef combines powerful anti-inflammatory, anesthetic, and antibiotic ingredients to treat ear and skin infections and conditions on cats, dogs, and horses. It primarily treats infections caused by bacteria susceptible to neomycin and allergic dermatologic conditions. This powdered topical application is also used to dress superficial wounds and surgical sites. In addition, it serves as a dusting powder following a variety of procedures, including some castrations, amputations, ear trimmings, and ovariohysterectomies.

Usage varies. Apply according to the specifications of your pet's prescription.

Directions:

1. Clean and dry affected area. Trim excess hair if necessary. Remove any debris from in and around the ear when treating it.
2. Aim the tip of the container at the affected area. Apply the prescribed dose with short, forceful compressions of the sides of the puffer bottle.
3. Do not allow the tip of the container to come into contact with any moist surface, including moist membranes or lesions or weeping wounds.
4. Replace the cap securely.
5. If you miss a dose, apply it as soon as you remember it. However, if it is almost time for the next dose, just wait and resume the regular schedule then. Do not apply a double dose.

Storage:

Keep out of reach of children and animals.

Store Neo-Predef at controlled room temperature, between 68 and 77 degrees F, in a dry place. Product and container tip must be kept dry for proper application.

It is a violation of Federal Law to use this product in a manner inconsistent with its labeling.

Neo-Predef contains the broad-spectrum antibiotic neomycin to kill many strains of susceptible bacteria. It is also made with isoflupredone acetate, a fast-acting and highly effective anti-inflammatory agent. Isoflupredone acetate is a corticosteroid that reduces inflammation associated with otitis externa, skin infections and conditions, concha wounds, ulcerated earflaps, and other problems. Neo-Predef also includes the potent topical anesthetic tetracaine. This local anesthetic may help accelerate healing and also helps prevent animals from inflicting harm upon themselves in response to itching, discomfort, pain, or other irritation. Myristyl-gamma-picolinium chloride is a non-irritating, relatively non-toxic compound that provides germicidal action, functions as a surfactant, and bolsters the effectiveness of Neo-Predef.

Neo-Predef Active Ingredients (per gm): neomycin sulfate 5 mg (equivalent to 3.5 mg neomycin), isoflupredone acetate 1 mg, tetracaine hydrochloride 5 mg, myristyl-gamma-picolinium chloride 0.2 mg, lactose hydrous

Warnings:

Keep Neo-Predef out of reach of children and animals. Do not use or store in or near open flame or heat.

Neo-Predef is only for cats, dogs, and horses for which it was prescribed. Do not use on other animals or humans.

For topical use only.

Use exactly as prescribed by your veterinarian.

CAUTION: Prevent animals from ingesting or inhaling this product. Avoid contact with eyes.

Tell your veterinarian if your pet is pregnant. Internal use of corticosteroids is associated with problems during pregnancy and birth defects.

Do not use in the ear when the eardrum is perforated.

Continued use of this product on infections caused by non-susceptible organisms may promote overgrowth. If the animal's condition does not improve or worsens within 2 to 3 days, consult your veterinarian for reconsideration of the diagnosis and treatment.

Ask your veterinarian about any concomitant use of other drugs or supplements.

This product and the tip of the container must be kept dry. The puffer bottle is designed to work in any position, but proper application requires that the tip be protected from moisture. Do not allow the tip to touch any moist surface, including those on your pet.

Otic use may impair hearing or balance. These effects may be transient or permanent.

Not for use on animals with a hypersensitivity to any of Neo-Predef's ingredients.

Not for use on deep infections, puncture wounds, or burns.
