Horse Insect and Mosquito Repellent

Mosquito Halt is an insect repellent spray for horses that quickly knocks down, repels, and kills mosquitoes that may transmit West Nile Virus or equine encephalitis. Mosquito Halt pet medications contain two insecticides and also control face flies, stable flies, and house flies.

Mosquito Halt for horses repels and kills mosquitoes, house flies, stable flies, and face flies. It prevents the aggravation, itching, irritation, and transmitted diseases associated with the swarming and biting of these insects. In addition, Mosquito Halt contains natural aloe vera and lanolin to soothe the skin and a sunscreen to protect against ultraviolet (UV) radiation damage.

Wear protective gloves and eyewear when applying Mosquito Halt.

Directions:

  1. Brush coat thoroughly before application to remove dirt, debris, or other foreign matter.
  2. Shampoo coat first if horse is dirty. Allow coat to fully dry before application.
  3. Hold bottle upright and spray entire coat. Avoid contact with horse's eyes, nose, mouth, and mucous membranes.
  4. Brush coat against the grain while spraying to facilitate penetration to the skin.
  5. Product may be sprayed onto a clean cloth or sponge and applied liberally as a wipe.
  6. Allow spray to dry completely before covering with any tack.

Frequency of Use:

For the initial use, apply daily for 2 to 3 days. Thereafter, reapply 1 to 2 times per week depending on need and your veterinarian's recommendations. Reapply after horse is washed or exposed to heavy rain.

Storage:

Keep out of reach of children and animals.

Flammable.

Store Mosquito Halt at controlled room temperature. Do not contaminate food, feed, water, or feeding items with storage.

It is a violation of Federal Law to use this product in a manner inconsistent with its labeling.

Mosquito Halt Ingredients: Permethrin* 0.20%, Prallethrin** 0.13%, Piperonyl Butoxide, Technical*** 0.50%, N-Octyl bicycloheptene dicarboximide 2.00%, Di-n-propyl isocinchomeronate 1.00%, Butoxypolypropylene glycol 5.00%, Other Ingredients 91.17%

Warnings:

Keep Mosquito Halt out of reach of children and animals. Do not use or store in or near open flame or heat. This product is flammable.

Mosquito Halt is only intended for use on horses, ponies, and foals. Do not apply to other animals. Not for use on humans.

For external use only.

Talk to your veterinarian before using any pesticide on your horse(s).

CAUTION: Use only in well-ventilated areas.

Not for use on horses intended for consumption.

Avoid contact with the horse's eyes, nose, mouth, and mucous membranes. Flush eyes well with clean water in the event of contact and consult your veterinarian about any prolonged irritation.

Wear protective gloves and goggles or other protective eyewear when spraying this product.

Mosquito Halt can inflict serious but temporary damage to human eyes. In the event of contact with human eyes, flush eyes for 15 to 20 minutes, removing contact lenses after 5 minutes. Take off contaminated clothing and immediately wash and rinse contaminated skin for 15 to 20 minutes. In either case, consult your physician or a poison control center for treatment advice. If ingested, sip water and contact your physician or a poison control center immediately. Do not induce vomiting unless instructed to do so by one of these sources. Always have the product label available when seeking treatment advice.

For treating physicians: probable mucosal damage may contraindicate the use of gastric lavage.

Do not smoke while handling Mosquito Halt.

As with any pesticide application, Mosquito Halt may trigger sensitivities. If any occur, wash affected areas with a mild soap and rinse extensively. Consult your veterinarian if irritation persists.

Ask your veterinarian before using this product on elderly, debilitated, medicated, pregnant, lactating, or breeding animals.

Do not reuse empty container. Dispose of in trash or offer for recycling where available. Never pour unused product down a drain. Contact your local solid waste agency for disposal instructions of unused product.

Mosquito Halt is toxic to fish. Do not apply to water or where runoff is possible.

Do not apply to painted or wooden surfaces.
