Hyaluronic Acid Arthritis and Joint Pain Medication

Legend Injectable Solution is made from pure hyaluronic acid to lubricate and protect your horse's joints safely and effectively. The product reduces inflammation to ease pain and improve mobility, while simultaneously promoting joint health and protecting the joints against future damage.

Use Legend Injectable only as directed by your veterinarian.

This product is for intravenous use in horses only. It is not for intra-articular use.

Rule out serious fractures before giving to treat acute lameness.

Directions:

1. Use aseptic technique to inject Legend slowly into the jugular vein.
2. Give 4 mL intravenously once per week.
3. Give your horse stall rest following treatment.

Frequency of Use:

Give intravenous injections once per week for up to 3 weeks, or as directed by your veterinarian.

Storage:

Store Legend below 104 degrees F, away from children and animals.

It is a violation of Federal Law to use this product in a manner inconsistent with its labeling.

Legend Multi Dose Injectable Solution contains hyaluronic acid, a naturally occurring substance found in skin, connective tissue, and a few other locations. Hyaluronic acid is also found in the synovial fluid of joints in high concentrations, where it regulates cellular constituents, decreases the impact of enzyme release and exudation and helps prevent joint degradation. Hyaluronic acid may also work to reduce inflammation.

Ingredients (per 20 mL vial): 10 mg hyaluronate sodium, 8.5 mg sodium chloride, 0.223 mg sodium phosphate dibasic, 0.04 mg sodium phosphate monobasic, 15.63 mg benzyl alcohol as a preservative

The pH is adjusted to between 6.5 and 8.0 with sodium hydroxide or hydrochloric acid

CAUTION: This product is for intravenous use in horses only. It is not for intra-articular use.

Do not use in horses intended for consumption by humans.

It is not known if Legend Injectable Solution is safe for use in breeding, lactating, or pregnant horses.

This product is not associated with side effects or adverse reactions, but occasional depression, fever, and lethargy are possible based on voluntary post-approval reports.

Do not use Legend in animals with a known allergy to it or to similar products.
