The broad-spectrum antiparasitic agent
ivermectin disrupts nerve impulses in parasites, causing paralysis or
death. Lungworms, lice, roundworms (even the Ostertagia ostertagi
in cattle), mange mites, reindeer warbles, and cattle and American bison
grubs are all susceptible to the effects of Ivermectin 1%. Use this
product in cattle and swine for serious control over external and internal
parasites.
Ivermectin 1% is available without
a veterinary prescription.
Ivermectin 1% (ivermectin)
Ivermectin 1% injectable solution is
clear, sterile, and ready for use.
Ivermectin 1% Ingredients: 1%
ivermectin, 40% glycerol formal, 1.5% benzyl alcohol (preservative),
and propylene glycol, q.s. ad 100%
Warnings:
Keep this product out of reach of children
and animals. Do not use or store in or near open flame or heat.
Ivermectin 1% is FDA-approved for use
in beef and dairy cattle, swine, American bison, and reindeer. It is
sometimes used off-label in dogs. Do not use in other animals or humans.
Do not use in dogs without specific
recommendation from your veterinarian. Be aware that use may be via
injection or oral or topical administration.
This product has been associated with
severe side effects in species for which it is not FDA-approved, including
death in dogs.
Do not treat beef cattle within 35
days of slaughter. Do not use in female dairy cattle of breeding age,
as the withdrawal time in milk has not been determined. Do not treat
swine within 18 days of slaughter. Do not treat reindeer or American
bison within 56 days of slaughter.
Use only as directed by your veterinarian.
Louse eggs are not affected by treatment
with Ivermectin 1%, and can take up to 3 weeks to hatch.
For the most effective control of grubs,
administer this product as soon as possible after the heel fly (warble
fly) season ends.
Do not administer more than 10 mL Ivermectin
1% in the same injection site. Divide larger doses between two sites.
CAUTION: For subcutaneous injection
only. Do not inject this medication intravenously or intramuscularly.
Use only sterile equipment on properly
sanitized injection sites to prevent infections.
Some temporary discomfort or soft-tissue
swelling may occur at the site of injection. Monitor the site for reactions,
and discuss any you see with your veterinarian. Contact your veterinarian
about any suspected adverse reactions to use of this medication.
Talk to your veterinarian first before
using this product concurrently with any other drug or supplement.
Do not contaminate water or soil with
Ivermectin 1%. Dispose of in an approved landfill or by incineration.
