Hexadene Shampoo is for use on cats and dogs. Hexadene
Flush is for cats, dogs, and horses. Do not apply to other animals.
Do not use on any animal for which it was not prescribed. Not for use
on humans.
Read the product directions and precautionary statements
provided by the manufacturer.
Use as prescribed by your veterinarian.
Directions for Hexadene Shampoo:
- Wet animal's coat well.
- Shake bottle.
- Apply sufficient shampoo to create a rich lather.
- Massage product over coat.
- Rinse and reapply.
- Let second application stand for 5 to 10 minutes.
- Rinse animal's coat thoroughly.
- Wash hands with soap and water.
Directions for Hexadene Flush:
- Shake well.
- Apply as prescribed to affected area(s) of skin.
- Blot excess solution or wipe away debris as needed
with a cotton ball or clean, absorbent material.
- Wash hands with soap and water if there is contact
with solution.
Frequency of Use:
Use Hexadene Shampoo 2 to 3 times per week for 4
weeks. Thereafter, use once per week as directed by your veterinarian.
Use Hexadene Flush as prescribed; typical usage is once daily until
your veterinarian determines the condition has been successfully treated
(for 2 to 3 days beyond apparent resolution of clinical signs).
Storage:
Keep out of reach of children and animals.
Store Hexadene products at controlled room temperature.
It is a violation of Federal
Law to use this product in a manner inconsistent with its labeling.
Hexadene Shampoo and Flush contain the broad-spectrum
antiseptic chlorhexidine, which effectively kills a variety of bacteria
and fungi to treat susceptible infections. They also contain Spherulites,
a patented encapsulation system that slowly releases medication. In
addition, they contain chitosanide, a natural bipolymer that seals in
hydration and topical medication while protecting the skin and coat
against environmental damage. Hexadene Flush also contains triclosan,
another antibacterial and antifungal agent, for stronger and broader-ranging
treatment.
Hexadene Shampoo Ingredients: Chlorhexidine gluconate 3% in a shampoo base
containing water, lauryl glucoside, cocamidopropyl betaine, Spherulites,
chitosanide and lactic acid. Chitosanide, chlorhexidine gluconate and
lactic acid are present in free forms. Chlorhexidine acetate is present
in encapsulated (Spherulites) form. May contain sodium hydroxide and
sodium chloride.
Hexadene Flush Ingredients: Chlorhexidine gluconate 0.25%, water, propylene
glycol, Spherulites, chitosanide, fragrance, triclosan, FD&C blue
#1. May also contain lactic acid. Chlorhexidine diacetate is present
in encapsulated (SPHERULITES) form. Propylene glycol is present in encapsulated
(SPHERULITES) and in free forms.
Warnings:
Keep Hexadene products out of reach of children and
animals. Do not use or store in or near open flame or heat.
Hexadene Shampoo is only intended for use on cats
and dogs. Hexadene Flush is only intended for use on cats, dogs, and
horses. Do not use on humans or other animals. Do not use on any animals
for which product was not prescribed.

Use according to your veterinarian's prescription.
CAUTION: Avoid contact with eyes and
mucous membranes. Rinse eyes well with clean water in the event of contact.
Consult your veterinarian about any persisting irritation.
If application of a Hexadene product results in irritation,
or if animal's condition does not improve within 1 week or gets worse,
discontinue use and consult your veterinarian.
Use with caution on debilitated animals.
Wash hands and any exposed skin with soap and water
after use.
