Fish Flex is a broad spectrum antibiotic used in the treatment of a wide range of bacterial infections. For ornamental and aquarium fish only. |

Fish Flex (Cephalexin) 250 mg, 30 Capsules
Fish Flex (Cephalexin 250mg) is for use in
aquariums for the treatment of bacterial activity. Cephalexin is a
cephalosporin antibiotic and acts by inhibiting the synthesis of bacterial cell
wall, leading to cell death. Cephalexin is active against both
gram-positive and gram-negative bacteria. Resistance can develop among
some gram-negative rods (e.g., E. coli).
Directions:
Fish: Add one capsule (250mg) into
aquarium for each 10 gallons of water. Repeat in 24 hours. It is suggested
that a partial water change be made between treatments. While treatment
duration depends on the type and severity of infection, it is recommended
that extended baths in the medication continue for a minimum of 5 days and
for not more than 10 days. Discontinued treatment if no improvement is
noted within 5 days.
Dogs and Cats: 10-30 mg/Kg (5-14
mg/lb) every 6-8 hours orally. Fish Flex is commonly given in off-label use
to small animals.
Used to treat skin infections, urinary
tract infections, wound infections, and respiratory infections.
Contraindications: Sensitivity to
cephalosporins.
Not for human use.
